Securitize confirms 12 stocks live on Solana with eligible US access

Securitize has confirmed that 12 tokenized U.S. stocks, including Apple, Nvidia and Tesla, are live on Solana for eligible investors, with each token backed by a share the company says is never lent out.

    Summary

    • 12 stock tokens are live on Solana, including Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, and Amazon.
    • Securitize says backing shares are never lent out, and eligible U.S. investors can participate.
    • Holders receive security entitlements; direct registration requires conversion, subject to the available arrangements.
    • The original launch announcement dates to Oct. 8, before the latest posts confirming availability.

In its Oct. 23 X post, Securitize said that eligible investors in the United States, European Union and other permitted jurisdictions can trade the products through Securitize Stocks. Solana repeated the availability announcement, including the one-for-one backing and no-lending claims.

Securitize Stocks went live after an Oct. 8 announcement

Securitize’s original announcement named Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, SpaceX, Strategy, and Palantir in the initial offering. The latest promotional image displays the same companies, including Alphabet’s GOOGL ticker.

The company had announced the product on Oct. 8. Its Oct. 23 posts describe the stocks as available, without announcing a new set of 12 companies or a separate expansion in the number of products.

As crypto.news previously reported on Oct. 9, the stock entitlement structure gives holders an interest through an intermediary. Simply holding a token does not put the investor’s name on the underlying company’s shareholder register.

The earlier coverage identified eligibility and the precise underlying interest as questions for individual products, particularly SpaceX. Inclusion in a platform’s catalog does not by itself establish identical access conditions for every security or investor.

The Oct. 8 release named Jump Trading as a market maker supporting the initial Solana offering. It described transactions settling in USDC and identified Securitize Europe Brokerage and Markets, S.A. as the offering entity in the EU. Planned lending and collateral uses were described as future applications, including potential support through Aave.

Eligible US investors must complete onboarding

Securitize’s product page identifies Securitize Markets, LLC as the SEC-registered broker-dealer offering the stocks. The page says participation remains subject to onboarding, identity verification, and jurisdictional eligibility.

Investors can buy with USDC and hold the tokens in an approved Solana wallet, according to the product description. The page advertises trading 24 hours a day, five days a week, while describing seven-day trading as a future feature.

The platform says an underlying share is held in a segregated account for each tokenized stock. Its description includes dividend payments after applicable withholding and participation in shareholder votes.

Securitize’s disclosures state that the underlying issuers have neither sponsored nor endorsed the products. Investors hold security entitlements through the broker-dealer and become registered shareholders only if they convert.

The page warns that extended-hours trading carries additional risks. Its USDC disclosure states that the stablecoin is neither legal tender nor a bank deposit and has no FDIC or SIPC protection.

Kraken’s xStocks carry different access and ownership terms

Kraken’s tokenized stock vaults, introduced on Sep. 14, offered estimated net yields of 2% on SPYx and QQQx and 1.8% on NVDAx during the initial launch period. The products track two U.S.-listed funds and Nvidia shares.

Kraken said those tokens provide exposure to the referenced assets’ prices without the voting rights, dividend rights, or legal claims against the underlying companies associated with conventional share ownership. The vault service excluded residents of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

Its vault documentation described a three-day redemption process and risks including liquidation, smart-contract failures, liquidity shortages, bad debt and cross-chain transactions. Kraken warned that a stablecoin losing its peg or a custodian failing could reduce a user’s vault balance.

Separately, Payward’s Sep. 24 Ledger wallet partnership outlined hardware-wallet support for eligible xStocks customers. The companies planned deeper integration so users could buy, sell, and transfer tokens while holding their own keys.

Payward put cumulative xStocks transaction volume above $42 billion in that announcement. Its terms continued to exclude U.S. persons, and hardware-wallet support did not remove the jurisdictional restrictions. The September coverage distinguished holding tokens in a wallet from depositing them into a lending strategy.

Robinhood stock tokens use derivative contracts

Robinhood’s stock token terms describe its Classic Stock Tokens as derivative contracts under MiFID II. Holders receive exposure to a referenced asset’s price without owning the underlying shares or receiving voting rights, according to the company’s description.

Robinhood said the assets supporting those contracts were held through a U.S.-licensed institution. Its stock tokens remained unavailable to U.S. investors in the September coverage, despite referencing securities traded in American markets.

The same coverage reported approximately $44 million in Robinhood tokenized assets in a comparison that put Ondo at $857 million and xStocks at $487 million. Those figures described the assets in that comparison, rather than trading volume.

Securitize’s Oct. 8 release described possible future trading on NYSE and OKXICE venues, while its disclosures said neither venue had launched and access remained subject to approval and review. The company reserved the right to withdraw listings where needed or required.
